Valentine’s Day is almost here. While most people are thinking of flowers and chocolates, your friendly, neighborhood tax preparer is already thinking about April 15th.

IRS e-filing has officially opened and is now accepted returns. More importantly, official tax documents like W-2s and 1098 forms should have been received by now. The majority of taxpayers have enough information to start their tax returns.

Clergy Financial Resources sets March 15th as our own deadline for providing a completed tax organizer and all tax documents to our office. While you can still provide information after March 15th, there is no guarantee that the return will be prepared by the tax deadline of April 15th. The closer April 15th gets, the less time is available to resolve last-minute issues.

If you still need to get started, no worries! The first step is getting your tax organizer completed.
